Netanyahu Criticizes Gaza Committee for Using Palestinian Authority Logo
(MENAFN) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday criticized the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG) for updating its logo to resemble the Palestinian Authority (PA) emblem, according to reports.
“The logo of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG) which was presented to Israel was entirely different from the one published this evening,” Netanyahu’s office said in a statement, adding, “Israel will not accept the use of a Palestinian Authority symbol; the Palestinian Authority will have no part in the administration of Gaza.”
Netanyahu has emphasized the need to fully separate the PA from Gaza’s governance, though he acknowledged last week that PA representatives would participate in the operational framework at the Rafah Border Crossing with Egypt, as stated by reports.
The NCAG has not publicly responded to Netanyahu’s comments.
The committee was created to implement phase two of US President Donald Trump’s Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict. It operates alongside a founding Executive Board and a Gaza Executive Board that supports its work.
As a non-political body, the NCAG manages daily civil service operations and comprises 11 Palestinian national figures, led by its head, Ali Shaath.
