Palestinian FM Urges Swift Sanctions Over Settler Attacks in West Bank

(MENAFN) The Palestinian Foreign Ministry on Monday called for urgent international sanctions against Israeli occupiers and the settlement system following attacks on two villages in the occupied West Bank.

According to reports, the ministry condemned the “terrorist attacks by settlers” in Al-Lubban al-Sharqiya and Qusra, which occurred earlier in the day. Dozens of Israeli settlers reportedly assaulted the villages before dawn, setting fire to homes and vehicles and injuring 10 Palestinians.

The ministry described the destruction as “organized and repeated crimes directed by the occupation state,” aimed at creating a coercive environment to force Palestinians from their land through systematic terror. It added that the assaults further Israeli settlement expansion and ethnic cleansing efforts, accusing Israeli authorities of providing protection and assistance to the armed settler groups behind the attacks.

The ministry urged the international community to take urgent action “beyond condemnation,” including implementing clear and binding sanctions on the settlement system and designating the occupier militias on international terrorism lists.
