Israel Reports Downing Houthi Drone Targeting Red Sea City
“The IAF (Israel Air Force) intercepted a UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) that was launched from Yemen,” the Israeli military confirmed in an official statement.
No injuries or damage were reported following the interception, and the Houthis have yet to issue any immediate response.
Since the outbreak of war in Gaza in October 2023, Houthi forces have launched numerous missiles and drones toward Israel, declaring their support for the Palestinians. While the majority of these attacks have been thwarted or missed their intended targets, Israel has retaliated with targeted strikes against ports and key infrastructure in Yemen.
